This learning is based on <strong>sponsorship<\/strong> between courses and is used as a basic tool for <strong>cooperative work<\/strong>.\u00a0 We want our students to learn how to participate in community life based on democratic values, thus promoting a fair and supportive environment.\u00a0 They have to learn to value relevant social problems interpret the causes and the consequences to consider future proposals (social competency).<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph -->At school, we boost <strong>dialogue<\/strong> as a tool of understanding in the relationship between the students, through English learning in the whole of Primary (5 weekly hours from Year 1 to Year 4 and between 6\/7 hours from Years 5 and 6) and one hour of <strong>French<\/strong> (1 hour a week from Year 3).<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<!-- wp:heading -->\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning to know and learn<\/h2>\r\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<!-- wp:separator {\"opacity\":\"css\"} --><hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/><!-- \/wp:separator -->\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<!-- wp:image {\"align\":\"right\",\"id\":10859,\"width\":396,\"height\":297,\"linkDestination\":\"custom\"} -->\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundaciomeritxell.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Primaria-Escola-Meritxell-Mataro-ipads.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" class=\"wp-image-10859\" style=\"width: 396px; height: 268px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fundaciomeritxell.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Primaria-Escola-Meritxell-Mataro-Matematiques.jpg\" alt=\"iPads a les aules de Prim\u00e0ria de l&#039;Escola Meritxell de Matar\u00f3 \" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fundaciomeritxell.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Primaria-Escola-Meritxell-Mataro-Matematiques.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.fundaciomeritxell.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Primaria-Escola-Meritxell-Mataro-Matematiques-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\r\n<!-- \/wp:image -->\r\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph -->To explore, to experiment, to formulate questions and test hypothesis, to plan and develop projects, are the key elements in the processes of guiding our students.\u00a0 Therefore, the school works from the idea of personal experimentation and with <strong>Science<\/strong> lab practises (done <strong>100% in English<\/strong>), promoting <strong>creativity<\/strong> within all areas as a thinking tool, such as the thinking keys, the seven hats of Edward de Bono etc\u2026<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph -->The students improve their <strong>digital competence<\/strong> (ITC), using the interactive boards (they are in all the classrooms) as well as working on robotics (<strong>Lego Wedo, Scratch<\/strong>\u2026).\u00a0 Moreover, the new school project includes the gradual introduction of the <strong>iPad<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph \/-->\r\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph -->Classes start at 9:00am until 13:00pm and at 15:00pm until 17:00pm, from Monday to Friday, a total of 30 hours a week.<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph -->Likewise, also offered are the services of <a href=\"\/en\/psychology-department\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">guidance and intervention<\/a> from the psycho-educational department, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundaciomeritxell.cat\/en\/welcome-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">early morning and afternoon welcome<\/a>, school <a href=\"\/en\/transport-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">transport<\/a>, school <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundaciomeritxell.cat\/en\/dining-room\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">meals<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundaciomeritxell.cat\/en\/monitors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">monitors<\/a>, extra school clubs and our own <a href=\"\/en\/cic-language-school-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">school of language<\/a>.
